What is Kimchi Jeon?

Kimchi Jeon is a Korean kimchi pancake. It sounds weird to make a pancake using kimchi but ti tastes wonderful. Kimchi Jeon is a food that is cooked using kimchi mixed with a dough that is more watery than normal pancakes. It is cooked by making it very flat and wide while you cook it. Many people like to eat it when it is raining outside because the rain outside just makes it more better to eat it. It’s spiciness depends on whose kimchi you use.

What is Gyeran Jjim?

Gyeran Jjim is a steamed Korean egg. It is very puffy and good. This looks like an egg that was in a hot place for too long that it is about explode. basically you just put stirred egg in to a pot and just steam it in fire until it puffs up because of the steam. Many people eat it at restaurants. It is usually served right away after it was taken out form the fire so that it will taste better. It is salted with salt and have some chopped welsh onions on top.

What is Gyeran Mari?

Gyeran Mari is a Korean rolled omelette. It is rolled up with small chopped vegetables such as carrots and many more. It is usually eaten as a side dish in Korea. It is usually made in a shape of thick squares and you would slice it into just the right size to eat it. Sometimes people use ketchup on top to make it taste sweet and more salty. Many kids eat it for their lunch.

What is Bibim Guksu?

Bibim Guksu is a Korean Spicy cold noodle. It is eaten cold and spicy. Many adults like to eat this because it is sweet, cold, and spicy. It is eaten a lot during summer. They use Korean chilli paste for the sauce and many more. Most of the times people put ice to make it more cold. They put soy sauce to make it taste better and salty and sweet. Most of the times people put sliced vegetables to make it fresh.

What is Odeng Tang?

Odeng Tang is a Korean fish cake soup. Usually it sounds weird when you call it fish cake, but it turns out that it doesn’t have any taste that is fishy or anything. It just tastes good. This food has two names. They are Odeng Tang and Eomuk Guk. It is a famous food in Korea during winter because it is warm and good. This is one of my favourite winter food in Korea. The fish cake is usually sold by having it inside the soup and have it boiled together. The soup contains a bit of soy sauce and other stuff. It is usually sold in Korean markets. The fish cakes are usually sold put in wood skewers.

What is Donkatsu(Korean)?

Donkatsu is a Korean pork cutlet. It is usually known as a Japanese food but there are many different kinds of it. In Korea we have special sauces that is spread on top of the meat. The meat is deep fried and crispy. People in Korea usually eat it with rice, small side dish salad, and dan mu ji which is a Korean yellow pickled radish. Long time ago in Korea people couldn’t eat Donkatsu as often like today because it was very expensive in those days. Only rich people could go to a restaurant and eat Donkatsu. Even the rich people couldn’t eat it that often, so they ate it only one special days.

What is Bossam?

Bossam is a Korean pork dish. It is a thinly sliced pork meat that is boiled in a broth of spices. Bossam is usually eaten with radish kimchi or normal kimchi, raw garlics, ssamjang which is a special Korean sauce, saeu jeot which is small shrimps that are salted with salt, and other vegetables. People usually eat it with salty side dishes because it would be too greasy if they don’t eat anything salty.

What is Samgyetang?

Samgyetang is a Korean chicken soup. It is made with chicken, ginseng, different kinds of spices, and sticky rice. The chicken is cooked in boiling broth made with ginseng and spices. The sticky rice is used to stuffed inside the chicken so that later on when you eat the chicken you will have some sticky rice to eat with. Samgyetang is usually eaten in summer because it is a good stamina food to eat when you don’t have energy form of the heat or anything. Many eat this in the fall and the winters too because it is warm so it heats your body. You would taste a lot of ginseng and other kinds of spices when eat Samgyetang.

What is Hobakjuk?

Hobakjuk is a Korean pumpkin porridge. It is made with pumpkins and sugars. It is sweet, warm, and good. Most of the times people put special rice cakes inside the porridge and heat it together so that the taste will be better. Many eat this for snack or dessert but sometimes people eat this for breakfast too! It is popular during the fall and the winter because it is cold but this porridge would help you get warm. Many people give Hobakjuk to those who had surgeries because it means to get well sooner or heal faster. On top of it some people put some nuts so that the nuttiness will blend in with the flavour of it.

What is Tangsuyuk

Tangsuyuk is a Korean fried meat. They usually eat it with a sweet sauce. Sometimes there may be fights over people who like to deep the meat in the sauce or who like to spread the sauce on the meat. They fight over it because some people are sensitive on the meat being less crispy because of the sauce. Tangsuyuk is often eaten with Jja Jang Myeon and Jjam Ppong. Many people like Tangsuyuk because it is sweet.
